All in the line of duty...

A job is a responsibility (to humanity) which must be met with a stiff upper lip and a stiff back!
It isn't done because you're so in love with your job description or position or that you find it exciting or challenging. It just pays the bills and that is the gospel truth!

In my country (for those of you who don't know - I'm referring to Nigeria: termed as the land flowing with milk and honey. In truth, this country of mine that I love to hate - is flowing alright but it's more along the lines of vinegar and blood)

I would honestly prefer to be my own boss and actually do something that inspires me, challenges and puts me in control of my fate (to a fair degree). I still believe this vision and I know for a fact that Nigeria has vast oppurtunities that can be tapped and utilized for profit.

Commerce based ventures (E-commerce), Marketing initiatives via the web, Portals that cater to different needs (betting, sports, information, sales & purchaces). Recent innovation in telecommunications, Online payment systems and a host of other developments point to a drift in the right direction.

What can I say? Hope is the name of the game and in my perverted opinion, it's better to be an instigator than to be a passive bystander - a drifter in the scheme of things.

Just wanted to say a few words and decongest my overfilled mind - doctor's orders!

All in a day's job...

Work is just work...
It isn't done because you're so in love with your job description or that you find it exciting or challenging. It just pays the bills and that is the gospel truth!

In my country (for those of you who don't know - I'm referring to Nigeria: termed as the land flowing with milk and honey. In truth, this country of mine that I love to hate - is flowing alright but it's more along the lines of vinegar and blood)

Fortunately, I'm here on a lighter note - so there are to be only objective discussions and bare faced truths - nothing more!

That said: It's raining! In this part of the world - the rainy season is about to end. But before it ends, there's usually a last valiant effort to enforce some kind of authority.

I'm at my desk trying to send this missal: a tall thanks to mr pat (happens to be a name sake) who apparently finds my entries a "nice" read. Me - what do I know?

I'm in training and so far the pace has been somewhat cool paced!

Regardless - I hope I find this environment stimulating and exciting.

Later folks...

My ship just set sail...

Imagine the changed circumstance.

As you read this recent post...
I'm writing from the comfort of my new working environment (Valucard).
I started work on thursday last week and have been gently getting to grips with my recent change in situation...

After touring the disparate job landscape - i finally have a job that will allow me the pleasure of planning my future, earn my up keep and break the burden of dependency on people
(the only dependency I plan to maintain is with GOD)...
I can say with some measure of God ordained certainty that I am now able to breathe easier and my parents are no longer giving me the funny eye and having private (muted) discussions amongst themselves regarding the future of their first borne son...

I actually wear a suit to work and have come to regard it as a second skin...
But I feel like a fish out of water... I have been assigned to the E-commerce department, which is currently non-existent. But there are expected changes that I am looking forward to - changes that will point Valucard in a new direction.

My brother has this new job as appointed human mirror - he simply looks at me then passes a vote of confidence or no confidence. So far, i've been getting the vote of confidence.
Let's see how long that lasts....

The job is slowly unfolding but I hope to get into the thick of things as time goes on.... Patience they say is a virtue that I may not have but I'm working to acquire it in the shortest possible time (an irony of sorts)...

My ship has been finally granted permission (by God, in his usual wisdom) to set sail for the chartered waters of the unknown - for my guide, I have the pointers
(the grace, mercy and divine guidance of God)....

If you think that i suddenly sound religious then i guess you're right - I have to be!
I just watched the non-obvious signs of a direct involvement, which had nothing to do with my "experience", "wisdom", "suitability", "knowledge" - it rather had to do with God's Appointed time for me...

Hence, I am here (in Valucard) as opposed to anywhere else...
It even relates to my desire to work with and understand E-commerce systems and their attendant sub components...
I plan to own and operate my own e-commerce portal dedicated to empowering people.
So this is actually a God sent oppurtunity to learn first hand from the pioneers...

I hope to be more regular in my discussions and posts....

My ship's finally set sail...

Au revoir....
