Work is just that - WORK...

The Rat race is on and in line with its policy there are no winners...

The problem with the rat's maze is that the scientist is the only person who has an overview of what works and which path(s) is/are a total dead end...

The rat is obviously none the wiser and keeps at it - dead end after dead end with no greater aim in sight... After repeated attempts to gain freedom or get to the cheese or what ever tasks the scientist has in mind - it begins to grasp an understanding of its surroundings and environment and maybe - just maybe a better understanding of just what it is involved with...

If only the rat knew...

Work is something that continually defies explanation - at least to me.
I'm working in an environment that requires me to be some what trained to a level that will allow me to provide the much needed support to my clients - unfortunately, training is selectively dished out because there are "others" whom the company considers more productive or maybe because i haven't yet ascended to THAT level or proved my "mettle"...

You've not yet been "confirmed" which makes you work your ass for what type of commendation?

I'm actually racially prejudiced against my own race because we've sold our right to think...
The black man is a slave to "now" - a mentality that forces him to think of only short term measures and plans...
You are rewarded along the traditional line of:
Time instead of demonstrated intelligence - as my friend said one is supposed to work smarter not harder - the black man believes otherwise.

This means that he constantly plans around short or at best medium term goals - which means that like the rat stated above he is constantly kept engaged by those with higher or broader agendas...

Work and the work environment is like a maze - full of perennial traps, ego clashes, tension and unnecessarily induced job pressures - most jobs in the country are not exactly defined by professional work ethics and we are all to blame for this.

Training is done on the job and often involves stumbling around until you get a partial picture you can work with - then maybe you can begin to have a better grasp of issues....

Which in essence means that you are self taught and more grudging about passing or sharing knowledge.

When it rains it pours....

Time: 11:20 pm
Location: No 3 idowu taylor street, v/island lagos.

I'm wondering what's happening to me. My girlfriend just left town today and i seem to be back to myself or at least myself as was before she came around...

Women definitely improve a man's temperament!
I have tried to call her but the telephone lines are acting up - whether as a result of the torrential downpour or something else is entirely beyond me.

I'm still in the office - my eyes are grimy and tired, i did well to stuff myself up to the gills as such I can expect that there'll be no cravings for food but i plan to keep a bottle of water close by in case...

I thinking of all the possible directions that my life could be headed - I also wondering if I am achieving any of my career goals.

I currently studying the forex market because i believe that it holds a promise of a better tomorrow. My mom left for a burial - i suspect she should be back sometime next week.

I miss my gal and have resigned myself and my fate to patiently waiting for her to decide what she wants for us...

The rain is still ponding the island and i suspect that floods will have overcome a large portion of lagos - who knows how movement will be hindered tomorrow?

I'm trying to get past today and i remain thankful for a God who keeps me in firm check even when i decide to stray...

Welcome to the month of June:

Our check list include the following:
1. Nigeria now has a new president.
2. We have transited from one government to another and await the outcome of events with baited breath.
3. Fuel and new VAT rates have added a decidedly heavy burden to an already tense situation - how this pans out in the long term is any body's guess.
4. My dad's birthday is for the 8th of June...
